Metro Station Opera House sits on Lê Lợi Boulevard in District 1. This underground station serves Line 1 of Ho Chi Minh City’s metro system. It occupies a central city location. The historic Saigon Opera House neighbors the station, lending it its name. This station ranks among three subterranean stations on the Bến Thành – Suối Tiên line. It officially opened on December 22, 2024, with the rest of Line 1.

The station structure has four underground levels. It reaches a depth of about 33 meters. Its interior design draws inspiration from French colonial architecture. It mirrors the nearby Opera House. The design incorporates classical motifs and materials. The layout features a main concourse level. This level handles ticketing and passenger services. Separate platform levels serve northbound and southbound trains. Platform 1 serves trains heading to Bến Thành. Platform 2 serves trains going to Suối Tiên.

Multiple exits offer direct access to nearby streets and landmarks. These exits connect passengers to Lê Lợi and Đồng Khởi streets. This allows easy access to the Saigon Opera House. Passengers also reach Lam Sơn Square and Nguyễn Huệ Walking Street. One exit provides a direct underground link. It connects to the Union Square shopping center. This integration establishes the station as a key transit hub. It serves prominent sites in downtown Ho Chi Minh City.

As part of Ho Chi Minh City’s first metro line, the station plays a crucial role. It connects the central business district with the city’s eastern parts. This includes Thủ Đức City. The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) provided primary funding for the line. Its opening marked a significant development. It modernized urban transit in the city.
