Open in Google MapsCộng Cà phê is a retro coffeehouse on Lý Tự Trọng in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. The cafe occupies the first floor of an older residential apartment building. This site stands across the intersection from the Vincom Center Đồng Khởi shopping complex. The branch opened in 2014 as the chain’s first location in southern Vietnam.
Founder Linh Dung launched the original Cộng Cà phê brand in Hanoi in 2007. The interior channels northern Vietnamese domestic aesthetics from the post-war subsidy era. Olive-green walls, reclaimed wooden furniture, and vintage metal fans define the seating rooms. Red peacock-pattern cushion fabrics cover the chairs throughout the space. Shelves hold old books, enamel cups, and antique radios from twentieth-century Vietnam. Balcony seating looks out over the street traffic below.
The kitchen blends robusta coffee with condensed milk and shaved coconut ice. This signature coconut coffee smoothie anchors the drink menu. Staff also brew traditional phin drip coffee, bạc xỉu, and iced fruit teas. Cold beverages arrive in tall glassware or patterned enamel mugs. The kitchen serves light bites such as toasted bread with condensed milk and roasted sunflower seeds.
The venue provides indoor air conditioning alongside natural ventilation on the balcony. Visitors enter through an alleyway staircase leading up from Lý Tự Trọng street. The coffeehouse attracts students, office workers, and travelers throughout the day. Cộng Cà phê now operates dozens of branches across Vietnam and international outlets abroad.
