Bitexco Financial Tower is a 68-story skyscraper on Hải Triều Street in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. The building stands 262.5 meters tall and was the tallest building in Vietnam upon its completion in 2010. Its design, by American architect Carlos Zapata, draws inspiration from a blooming lotus bud, Vietnam’s national flower. The tower’s curved facade consists of 6,000 individual glass panels. Vietnamese company Bitexco Group developed the tower, which officially opened on October 31, 2010.

The tower primarily contains office and retail space. The lower floors house the Icon68 shopping center. The upper floors provide office accommodations for numerous multinational corporations. A distinctive feature is the helipad on the 52nd floor. This structure cantilevers 22 meters from the main building at a height of 191 meters. The building’s high-speed elevators are among the fastest in Southeast Asia, traveling at 7 meters per second.

The most prominent public attraction is the Saigon Skydeck. This observation deck sits on the 49th floor, 178 meters above ground level. It offers 360-degree panoramic views of the city and the Saigon River. The Skydeck also features an Ao Dai Museum, which displays traditional Vietnamese dresses. The tower’s upper floors contain restaurants and bars, providing additional viewpoints of the urban landscape. The building is a major landmark on the city’s modern skyline.
