Metro Station Ba Son

Metro Station Ba Son is an underground transit station on Tôn Đức Thắng in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. It serves as a stop on the city’s Metro Line 1, connecting Bến Thành Market with Suối Tiên Theme Park. The station occupies the former site of the historic Ba Son Shipyard. It is one of three underground stations on the line, alongside Bến Thành and Opera House stations.

The station’s structure consists of two subterranean levels. The first level, B1, functions as the main concourse. It contains the lobby, ticket vending machines, automatic fare gates, and an information center. The second level, B2, holds the platforms where passengers board and alight from the trains. The station’s overall length is 240 meters, with a width of over 34 meters and a depth of approximately 20 meters. Its interior design features a white color scheme and a ceiling with wave-like steel patterns, which symbolize the adjacent Saigon River.

Access to the station is provided through five separate entrances. These gates connect to the Tôn Đức Thắng street sidewalk, the Saigon River waterfront, and the Vinhomes Golden River commercial and residential complex. One entrance incorporates a pedestrian underpass for crossing Tôn Đức Thắng street. The station provides direct access to nearby landmarks including the Ba Son Bridge, the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens, and the Tôn Đức Thắng Museum. It is the final underground stop on the line before the track transitions to an elevated railway over the Saigon River.
