OHQUAO Souvenir Dept.

OHQUAO Souvenir Dept. is a contemporary gift and design store on Phạm Ngọc Thạch street in District 3, Ho Chi Minh City. The shop showcases products from more than 100 local Vietnamese brands and artists. Its collection features modern designs inspired by local culture. The store occupies a brightly lit space down a small alley.

Illustrator Simon Phan and content creator Hoa Phạm founded the OHQUAO brand in 2017. They initially sold items at pop-up events and local markets. The first physical store opened in February 2020. The founders aimed to create a new type of souvenir. Their products portray iconic Vietnamese images with a contemporary style. The store’s name is a phonetic rendering of the expression “Oh, wow.”

The product range includes stationery, art prints, postcards, and stickers. It also offers fashion accessories, home decor, and apparel. Many items feature playful bilingual puns in English and Vietnamese. The store works closely with a sister brand, the risograph printing studio Khô Mực. This collaboration results in many of the shop’s vibrantly colored prints and paper goods. A dedicated section called The Fashion Room presents clothing from Vietnamese independent designers.

OHQUAO curates a wide selection of items with a focus on originality and modern aesthetics. The shop stocks tote bags, magnets, pens, and handcrafted accessories. It also carries perfumes, scented candles, and board games. The collection represents a modern, creative view of Vietnamese culture. The store serves both local residents and international visitors.
