Cộng Cà Phê is a retro café on Lý Tự Trọng, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. The branch operates directly beside The New Playground underground shopping complex at 26 Lý Tự Trọng. Customers access the venue through an alleyway courtyard beside the historic apartment block. The space occupies two interior levels with indoor seating and a street-facing balcony.
The chain draws decorative themes from northern Vietnamese households during the 1980s subsidy era. Rooms feature olive-green woodwork, rustic wooden furniture, and patterned peacock cotton cushions. Enamel mugs, vintage propaganda posters, retro thermoses, and old books decorate the wooden shelves. Warm ceiling bulbs illuminate low timber seating, rustic brick accents, and concrete floors.
The kitchen prepares drinks using traditional Vietnamese robusta beans and metal phin drip filters. Signature beverages include an iced coconut coffee smoothie and blended coconut milk with green rice. The drinks counter serves bạc xỉu, iced condensed milk coffee, kumquat tea, and passion fruit juice. Snack selections feature roasted sunflower seeds, seasoned beef jerky, and roasted peanut brittle.
Founder Linh Dung opened the first Cộng Cà Phê outlet in Hanoi in 2007. The company now runs coffee shops across Vietnam, South Korea, Malaysia, and Taiwan. This central branch attracts neighborhood shoppers, university students, and foreign travelers throughout the week. The building stands directly opposite Vincom Center Dong Khoi and near the Saigon Opera House.
