Halloween in Saigon 2026: Two Nights, Five Parties, Picked by SMF

Halloween in Saigon arrives this year on a Friday and leaves on a Saturday, 30 and 31 October 2026, which is to say that the city has been handed two full nights and very little reason to sleep through either. The tropics have never taken much interest in autumn. There are no falling leaves in District 1 and no pumpkins worth carving. What Ho Chi Minh City has instead is an appetite for costume, a nightlife that rarely winds down before two, and a crowd that treats any holiday, imported or otherwise, as an invitation.

The obvious destination is Bui Vien Walking Street, where the plastic skeletons go up early and the speakers compete in volume rather than taste. It earns its place here.

The more interesting nights, though, are spread across the city: a club festival run out of three rooms, a French rooftop in Thao Dien, a Latin collective that prefers the Day of the Dead to the haunted house, and a District 1 rooftop that changes character somewhere between the main course and midnight.

The five parties below were chosen with Saigon Music Family (SMF), whose ear for the city’s dance floors shaped the list.

1. Halloween Club Fest: Salon, Bam and Mami Cocktails

Halloween Club Fest is the most ambitious proposition of the weekend: a two-night Halloween event in Ho Chi Minh City spread across three venues, Salon, Bam and Mami Cocktails, and co-organised by Hylo Group, W&P and OiOiOi. The premise is that one costume ought to carry a person through several rooms, and that a night improves when no single venue is asked to bear the whole of it. Lineups are posted on the official announcement.

Salon

Salon is a nightclub in Ho Chi Minh City run by Hylo Group, the hospitality group that also operates Bam and Bodega. In an ordinary week it keeps a steady calendar of DJ nights, ladies’ nights and themed parties, so Halloween asks less of it than of most venues; the costumes simply arrive with more conviction. For the weekend, Salon is one of the three rooms of Halloween Club Fest.

Bam and ETA

Bam, formerly Bam Bam, is a Bali-inspired club on Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, and one of Hylo Group’s longest-running rooms. Its design commits fully to the tropics, with neon-lit pools, bamboo and fruit-forward cocktails, while the DJs lean toward melodic house. Upstairs is ETA, a separate club space, which gives the building two dance floors and reduces the evening’s central question to which staircase to take.

Mami Cocktails

Mámi Cocktails is a cocktail bar and tapas kitchen on Xuan Thuy Street in Thao Dien, Ho Chi Minh City, run by the team behind 86 Proof Whiskey Bar a few doors away. The drinks are unapologetically strong in an era that has grown fond of low alcohol: the Hypeball combines mezcal, chili and cantaloupe, and the Notorious F.I.G. is built on Bushmills and fig. Downstairs, the room gathers around an open kitchen; upstairs, the bar looks out over Xuan Thuy. Within the fest, it is the room for people who would rather talk than dance, at least for the first hour.

  • Go if: you want to hop between dance floors in one night. Pick one venue as a base and move between rooms as the night builds.
  • Skip if: you want a quiet costume drink. Start at Mámi Cocktails before the dancing begins, then decide.

2. Le Café des Stagiaires, Thao Dien

Le Café des Stagiaires is a French-run rooftop bar and restaurant in Thao Dien, Ho Chi Minh City, the Saigon outpost of a group that three hospitality-school interns started in Shanghai in 2011. The name translates as the interns’ café, and the place still carries something of that origin: the air of people far from home deciding to make the best of it. The terrace faces the Saigon River and Landmark 81, the tallest building in Vietnam. On Halloween, Thao Dien’s expat community claims the rooftop as it has for years, arriving for the beer list, the shared plates and the DJ sets, and staying for the view.

  • Go if: you want an international crowd and a river view. Arrive around sunset to claim a rooftop spot before the costumes fill it.
  • Skip if: the rest of your night is in District 1. The Grab ride from Thao Dien adds 20 to 30 minutes each way.

3. Vibe Cartel: Noche de Muertos (Latin Halloween)

Vibes Cartel is a Latin music collective in Ho Chi Minh City, and its answer to Halloween is Noche de Muertos, a party that borrows its imagery from Mexico’s Día de Muertos, observed on 1 and 2 November. Where the rest of the city reaches for vampires and fake blood, Noche de Muertos prefers sugar-skull face paint and a soundtrack of reggaeton and salsa. The collective announces its venue and date on Instagram, which, for a party devoted to remembering the dead, is a fittingly modern form of invitation.

  • Follow: Instagram
  • Go if: you would rather dance to reggaeton and salsa than techno. Follow the collective now, since the venue and date go up on Instagram first.
  • Skip if: you want classic Halloween horror. Papaya Papa is the better fit for vampires and fake blood.

4. Papaya Papa, District 1

Papaya Papa is a rooftop restaurant, bar and club on Hai Ba Trung Street in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, beside the alley that leads to Pizza 4P’s. It comes from the team behind Banana Mama on Bui Vien, and it has been compared, not unfairly, to a house party in a well-appointed apartment. The evening begins as dinner and ends, somewhere around four in the morning, as something else entirely. Its Halloween is the classic kind: full costumes, horror decor and a dance floor that fills once the plates are cleared.

  • Go if: you want dinner and a party under one roof. Book a dinner table and stay on as the room turns into a club.
  • Skip if: you are on a backpacker budget. Boosh on Bui Vien delivers the costume crowd for a fraction of the bill.

5. Boosh Rooftop and Boosh 2, Bui Vien

Boosh Rooftop is a graffiti-covered rooftop bar on Bui Vien Street in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, perched at the mouth of Bui Vien Walking Street. It makes no pretence of refinement. There is beer pong, foosball, pool and a row of arcade machines, the hip-hop is loud, and a beer starts at around 50,000 VND. Boosh 2, its sibling in the Bui Vien area, shares the temperament. After 11:30pm both fill to the walls, and on Halloween weekend the costumed crowd from the street below drifts between them with the easy confidence of people who have stopped checking the time.

  • Go if: you want a loud, cheap night of games and backpackers. Get there before 11:30pm, when both venues fill to the walls.
  • Skip if: you want a dress code or a real conversation. Le Café des Stagiaires or Mámi Cocktails suit that mood better.

How to plan Halloween weekend in Saigon

Halloween in Saigon 2026 spans two nights, and the sensible approach is to treat them differently: Friday 30 October for one serious party, Saturday 31 October for another. Thao Dien and District 1 sit roughly twenty to thirty minutes apart by Grab, traffic permitting, which in Saigon is never quite a promise. Bui Vien Walking Street closes to cars in the evening, so drivers stop on the surrounding streets and the last stretch is on foot.
