We’re Saigon Music Family, and this is the circuit we actually spend our nights on. What ties these rooms together isn’t a tidy genre label — it’s the people. On any given week the same handful of singers, pianists and horn players drift between these stages, and if you follow them long enough you’ll start recognising faces from one bar to the next. That’s the real map of live jazz in Ho Chi Minh City: not addresses, but a family of musicians.
So here are the six jazz bars in Saigon we’d stake our name on, ordered the way we’d actually move through a night — from an easy first cocktail to the club where all of it began. Most sit within a short ride of each other in District 1, so treat this less like a list and more like a set list.
