OKKIO Thao Dien

OKKIO Thao Dien is a specialty café on Xuân Thủy, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City, that serves craft coffee. The café opened in 2020 on a busy commercial street in Thảo Điền. Local design firm Red5studio styled the building after Wong Kar-wai’s film 2046. The exterior showcases a deep red facade with custom iron window frames resembling train windows. Natural sunlight filters through geometric skylights into the ground-floor seating area.

The interior features terrazzo counters, smooth plaster finishes, and green gradient walls that meet a white ceiling. A central brew bar anchors the main dining room. Baristas prepare pour-over brews, espresso beverages, and cold coffee drinks directly in front of guests. The coffee bar stocks single-origin beans alongside house-developed espresso blends. Specialty drinks include an Oak and Fire espresso containing cinnamon and sarsaparilla.

The kitchen prepares house-fermented lychee kombucha and slow-steeped cold brews using Kenyan beans. The beverage menu also lists Vietnamese egg coffee and cold-pressed fruit juices. Food options include bagels with smoked salmon, prosciutto di Parma, and roasted chicken pesto. The bakery section supplies butter croissants, egg salad sandwiches, and lemon pound cakes throughout the day.

OKKIO Thao Dien operates on two levels with indoor seating and small outdoor benches. The café attracts neighborhood residents, remote workers, and specialty coffee enthusiasts. Air conditioning cools the interior during midday heat. The venue sells packaged coffee beans, drip bags, and branded ceramic cups at the register. Retail shelves display bottled cold brew coffee and branded stationery near the counter.
