Metro Station Tan Cang

Tân Cảng Metro Station sits in Bình Thạnh District. It is an elevated stop on Ho Chi Minh City’s Metro Line 1. This route connects Bến Thành to Suối Tiên. The station stands near the Saigon Bridge. It borders Thủ Đức City. The station offers transit to the Vinhomes Central Park area. Vietnam’s tallest building, Landmark 81, is a short walk away.

Tân Cảng ranks as Line 1’s largest elevated station. Its structure includes a ground floor. Two upper levels house the concourse and platforms. The station features four platforms. This differs from other elevated stations’ two platforms. These extra platforms prepare for a future Metro Line 5 interchange. A large, arched white roof covers the platforms. A fiberglass membrane forms this distinct architectural feature.

The station links the city center with eastern districts. It also connects to Thủ Đức City. A pedestrian overpass helps passengers cross the busy highway. The station’s name comes from the area’s past. Locals knew it as Saigon Newport, or Tân Cảng Sài Gòn. Port facilities moved for new developments. The station now serves a large community. Metro Line 1 is Ho Chi Minh City’s first modern railway. The line features eleven elevated stations. It also has three underground stations downtown. Tân Cảng opened for service on December 22, 2024.
