Mam Mam – Vietnamese Eatery & Lounge
Mam Mam – Vietnamese Eatery & Lounge is a contemporary Vietnamese restaurant on Tôn Đức Thắng Street in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. It occupies the ground floor of the Nexus Tower, a modern office building. The restaurant’s concept draws inspiration from the traditional Vietnamese “mâm cơm,” or communal meal tray. The menu focuses on modern interpretations of regional Vietnamese dishes designed for sharing. It presents elevated versions of classic recipes from across the country’s northern, central, and southern regions.
The kitchen serves a dynamic menu that includes small, tapas-style plates and larger main courses. Specific dishes include Red Tilapia Sashimi, Torch Squid, and Fermented Bean Curd Duck Stew. The restaurant also offers a separate daytime menu with brunch-style items like Focaccia Stir Fry Beef. The beverage program features cocktails with names inspired by Vietnamese street snacks and drinks. The establishment aims to present Vietnamese culinary traditions within a modern dining context.
The interior design blends contemporary aesthetics with traditional Vietnamese elements. Circular motifs appear throughout the space in tables, lighting, and architectural details, referencing the round shape of the mâm tray. The restaurant features an open kitchen, allowing diners to observe the food preparation. The setting is designed to be suitable for both intimate dinners and larger social gatherings. Hảo Trần, founder of Vietcetera, is one of the creators behind the restaurant venture.
