The Sheraton Saigon sits at 88 Đồng Khởi, in the heart of District 1 — and some of the city’s best coffee is a short walk from the lobby. This guide rounds up specialty cafés within easy reach of the hotel, from a roaster hidden up a heritage staircase to a bean-to-bar chocolate house. Every spot is walkable from Đồng Khởi, so you can work through the list on foot in an afternoon. Each one is a real working café where locals drink, not a tourist stop — pick the closest for a quick cup, or follow the whole route for a proper coffee crawl through central Saigon.
The Workshop Coffee
The Workshop is a specialty coffee roaster and café on the top floor of a colonial-era building on Ngô Đức Kế street in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. It serves single-origin beans prepared with various brewing methods like pour-over, siphon, and Aeropress, alongside espresso drinks and a Western food menu. The space is a large, open-plan room with high ceilings and industrial fittings, centered around a large coffee preparation bar. Considered one of the city’s earliest third-wave coffee venues, it roasts its own beans, including locally sourced Vietnamese Arabica.
